Grand Space Opera: Light Age - Brute

I’m excited to share this character I created, based on an amazing concept art by Mikel Rekondo for the ArtStation Challenge: Grand Space Opera: Light Age.

As a 3D Character Artist, I took this project as an opportunity to push my skills in several key areas of character development. As I’ve been leveling up my skills over the past few months, I constantly felt the urge to rework parts of the model — sculpting, topology, baking, and texturing — because they no longer met my growing standards. This led to multiple iterations and delays, making the project take much longer than expected. But in the end, I’m grateful for the experience, as it reflects the progress I’ve made and the challenges I’ve overcome.

:bulb: Main Goals:

  • Improve my workflow in Marvelous Designer for creating believable garments.
  • Practice Hard Surface modeling for armor and weapon details.
  • Refine my facial sculpting techniques to bring character and presence.
  • Focus on rendering in Unreal Engine 5 to achieve a cinematic-quality presentation.
    This project represents my passion for storytelling through character design and my commitment to mastering both artistic and technical aspects of game-ready character creation.
