Can someone explain to me the different directories for ZBrush? When I try to download something and install it, there seems to be multiple directories in ZData, ZStartup, and others.
For example, there’s 3 “Materials” folder, one in ZData, ZStartup, and one just called ZMaterials.
If I downloaded a .ZMT material and I’d like to install it, where do I put the file?
Same applies with brushes, there’s ZBrushes, ZData:BrushPresets, and ZStartup:BrushPresets.

The directories located in your root folder are devoted to Lightbox, the Zbrush content browser. Resources stored here aren’t loaded with the program, but can be quickly loaded from the Lightbox interface. Most custom content should be stored in these directories.
Other directories are devoted to the resources that actually load with the program at startup. These should be modified sparingly, as there are performance implications. Adding content to these directories should be reserved for something you’re going to use every single session.
