An oni who visited ancient Kibi (present-day southern Okayama Prefecture) and became the ruler of the region.
He is also called Kibi no Kaja. He is said to have drifted from the western provinces (Kyushu or Izumo).
Another legend states that he was a prince of Baekje (or Silla or Gaya) who was defeated in a power struggle and drifted to Kibi.
He had eyes that sparkled like a tiger or a wolf, a red beard and long, flame-red hair, and a ferocious face. He was over four meters tall and possessed great strength.
He built “Oni no Shiro” (Oni Castle) in the mountains and ruled the region, but he tortured the local people with his cruelty, such as kidnapping women and boiling and eating those who did not do 
as he wanted in his “Oni no Kama (Oni’s Cauldron).”
