Love the plugin it defiantly is a hard thing to put down. Tried resizing the canvas and couldnt get that to work but everything seems ok besides that. Here is a quick 15 min paint last night on my cintiq 21ux.

Awesome plugin. Here’s my first doodle. I need to read the docs. Ran into some weirdness with the eraser.
Would love to have non destructive canvas rotation like Painter has. Gotta say I’m Jazzed though.

Really good tool, PaintStop.
The color palette can import adobe swatches in. I believe it can save it out, but im not on a computer that has zbrush on so i can’t say for sure. I have to admit i was quite surprised at that and await that feature in 3.5 (it sure saves a lot of time compared to typing in the rgb value of the exact color i want, or painstakingly choosing it on the wheel 
)
It’s compatible with tablets regarding pressure sensitivity, but not pen tilt or rotation. It’s also doesn’t have a layer system like Photoshop or Painter, just a base and a top layer. There are some cool features though. It’s supposed to be a simpler approach, but with the necessities there and done well.
I use Photoshop and Painter all day, but still enjoy PaintStop quite a bit. It’s nice working with a more natural media workflow sometimes, where the imperfections add to the end result. Plus, I think the brushes and textures are very good.
You say it only utilizies the two layers - but in the introduction video someone has a shelf out and is using MANY layers, he has like ten of them active. I think it is the african dog (after writing this I will double check).

I have a question.
When I use the stencil and ‘rub’ through - a residue seems to
remain on the page beyond the stencil design. I can turn the
stencil off and then erase the residue.
Is this normal? Thanks.
Regarding your ? on layers, what you see in the vid are the tabs. They’re sort of like separate sheets of paper in a sketchpad. You can merge or switch the two layers, can copy and paste tabs, and load images as tracing paper. You can also create stencils, as you saw in the vid.
So it’s not meant to work like Photoshop. It’s just a great way to draw and paint. I honestly can’t wait to see what you crazy good artists create. There’s already some good stuff being posted.
Regarding the stencil, I did beta test, but didn’t have time to really dig in to the features. I just started drawing. So I’ve only tried the brushes and canvas textures.

But I’m not complaining, just curious. I was trying to figure out how zbrush 2D works today, I have never used it for 2D until now and I’m having a great time with PaintStop. Just what I was looking for in a 2D program, a sketchbook JUST like this!

The plugin uses some extra ZBrush layers for its routines (and for things like a tracing image), which is what you are seeing in that screen shot. If you create extra ZBrush layers you may get unpredictable results!
On the Layer to Stencil feature: the stencil has degrees of masking and the results will depend on the tones that are in the painting you’ve done.

Looking forward to trying it out and find out the advantages of using an in-house art suite rather than z-apping over to photoshop or painter. Like others, i’m hoping the new tools’ll work on sculpts?!

Trying something different with PaintStop. I used the 50’s Kid doc and Jason’s TOONSHADER for drawing 3d models into line drawings and brought that into PAintStop. The model used is the demo with ZBrush 3.1

Looks great Spaceman, style (and model, mind) reminds me of Liberatore’s Ranxerox will have to give that a go … once I learn all the fundamentals
